April 2026.                         Med Express Donates Life‑Saving Defibrillators to City of Rayne

Med Express officials recently donated two (2) automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to the City of Rayne, arriving at the perfect time with baseball season underway and the Frog Festival just around the corner.

These life‑saving devices are used to treat sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) by delivering an electrical shock to the heart, helping restore a normal heart rhythm. AEDs are most effective when used within minutes of collapse and in conjunction with CPR to reverse potentially fatal arrhythmias. Modern AEDs are user‑friendly and provide clear voice prompts, allowing even untrained bystanders to assist in emergency situations.

One AED will be placed at the Gossen Park baseball fields, while the second unit will be used at the Civic Center to enhance public safety during large community events.

Mayor Chuck Robichaux expressed his sincere appreciation to Med Express for their generosity, emphasizing the importance of having this critical equipment available when every second counts.
