New City Business Procedures

City Hall

Lobby will be closed due to the Governor’s “Stay at Home” mandate as of March 23, 2020 at 5 p.m.

Hours will be regular hours 9 am – 4 pm

All business will be conducted through the drive- thru (West C Street and Section St)
-
Cut Ins- Driver’s License, Lease, and $205 Deposit required (Cash/Check/Money Order)

Cut Outs- Driver’s License (Pictured ID)

Please expect delays, as we will have an influx of customers utilizing the drive thru.

Building Inspections/Permits

All business will be conducted through the drop box connected to the door.
-
No one can enter the permit office (2nd floor) besides authorized personnel.
-
Table and chair will be available to use for paperwork outside of the office.

All demolitions to be brought to the council meetings will be postponed until further notice.

All Planning and Zoning Meeting will be postponed until further notice

Water/Wastewater

Normal business hours will be observed.

Business will be conducted by way of phone.

Calls will be handled as normal, but the public is asked not to interact closely with employees for the safely of the employees and their families.

Calls will be screened to determine whether the work environment is safe, so our employees can be protected.

Electric Department

Street / Public Works Department

Business will continue as usual.

No interactions with the public while working; keep safe distances.

City Court

Lobby is closed to public
-
Night Drop box, online payments, and through U.S. Mail are available to pay fines
-
Office hours are Monday- Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Police Department
-
Only allowed in the Lobby of the Police Department.

Issues with health needs to be provided to dispatcher when making a call into the station.

Chief Stelly is the only person who can approve anyone to enter beyond lobby.

Public Safety laws by governor will be strictly enforced.

Stay at Home order will be strictly enforced.
-
The Stay at Home Order does not apply to the following businesses and individuals:

State Healthcare workers and caregivers

Mental health and Social Service workers

Pharmacy employees
-
Emergency Services workers

Workers supporting groceries, pharmacies and other retail sales of food and beverage products (including Walmart, Target, Rouse's, etc. and smaller grocery stores)

Restaurant carryout and quick-serve food operations and food delivery employees

Farm workers

Electricity and Utility Industry employees

Critical Manufacturing employees (medical supply chains, energy, transportation, food, chemicals)

Chemical Sector workers

Commercial Facilities workers

Petroleum, Natural and Propane Gas workers

Transportation and Logistics workers (airports, trucking companies)

Communications and Information Technology employees

Financial Services and Banking Industry employees

Recreation Department

All City Parks are closed to the Public as of 3/13/2020 Until Further Notice.

All Baseball Practice and the 2020 Scheduled Baseball Program is suspended until further Notice.

The walking track at Gossen Park may be utilized but safe social distance is required.

Kennedy Field walking track may be utilized but safe social distance is required.

MLK Basketball Courts are off limits for public safety until further notice.
