Flood Insurance Rate Map (PFIRM)

In trying to keep the our citizens informed of changes that might affect them, the City of Rayne held a Public Hearing to discuss the FEMA Proposed Flood Insurance Rate Map (PFIRM).  Go to the link below to view meeting notes as well as maps of the proposed changes.  If you have questions, direct them to City Clerk Bobby Hebert at 337-334-3121 or email Rayne City Hall at PFIRM@rayne.org .

CITY COUNCIL MEETING MONDAY AUGUST 9, 2010

The City of Rayne will meet in regular session on Monday August 9, 2010 at 6:00 PM in the Council Chambers at City Hall. All interested parties are encouraged to attend.

RAYNE WINS 2010 STATE

CLEANEST CITY CONTEST

The City of Rayne was named the winner of the 2010 State Cleanest City Contest.   Rayne has been named District winner 15 times in a row!  The State Title is Rayne's eighth in this time span and third in a row.  Congratulations to all who helped out with this year's entry.

GOSSEN PARK BASEBALL FIELD RENOVATIONS BEGIN

The City of Rayne has started renovations to the American Legion Field at Gossen Park.  The field currently serves as the home base for the Rayne High School baseball team and various age appropriate summer league teams.  The oldest of all facilities utilized by the Recreation Department,  the American Legion Field will be retrofitted to accommodate today's standards.  State of the art lighting and new fencing will be installed by City of Rayne workforces.   Thanks go to Senator Nick Gautreaux and State Representative Jack Montoucet for securing the funds to do this work.  Please go to the link to view photos of progress of this project.

FROG FOUNTAIN COMPLETE

The City of Rayne's Depot Square has an added attraction with the newly installed Frog Fountain.  This original work of art was designed by Sammy Reggie and was installed by City of Rayne employees.  Thanks go to State Representative Gil Pinac and State Senator Nick Gautreaux for securing the funds to create the fountain.  Please go to the link to view photos of the fountain.

FROG FESTIVAL PAVILION COMPLETE

The City of Rayne's newest addition to Gossen Park, the Frog Festival Pavilion was unveiled at this year's 34th Annual Frog Festival.  This 20,000 sq. ft. addition to the grounds will allow the City of Rayne to attract future events to the area.  Special thanks go to State Representative Gil Pinac and State Senator Nick Gautreaux for securing the funds to construct the pavilion.  Please go to the link to view the construction of the Pavilion.

BRONCO FIELD RELIGHTING PROJECT COMPLETE

Relighting of  the Bronco League Field at Gossen Park has been completed.  The lights were funded with a grant from the Governor's Office of Rural Development.  City of Rayne Utility Department personnel performed the installation.  This field plays host to over 100 games a year.  Go to the link to view different phases of this project.

WATER & WASTE DEPARTMENT PROJECT

The City of Rayne Water & Waste Department recently completed maintenance on the Wastewater Treatment Plant's ammonia reduction pit.  This project was intensive and took five days to complete.  Most municipalities contract this type of project out.  Our crews did an amazing job and saved taxpayer dollars.  Go to the link to view pictures of the project.
